Detection and Prevention of Bovine Foot-and-mouth Disease in Yanqing District of Beijing City

Abstract: Foot and mouth disease(FMD)is one of the major diseases that endanger the healthy development of dairy industry. FMD has the characteristics of rapid transmission,wide range, high incidence rate and difficult to control. The main susceptible animals are cows. The milk production of dairy cows suffering from FMD has decreased and their fertility has been damaged,which has brought huge economic losses to cattle farmers. This paper summarized the first centralized immunization and monitoring of FMD in dairy cows in Yanqing District in 2022, analyzed and discussed the antibody monitoring results,and finally put forward a series of prevention and control suggestions such as implementing compulsory immunization,strengthening antibody monitoring and strict household disinfection to improve the breeding level and avoid the occurrence of epidemic disease.
