Comparison of Main Disease Incidence between Jersey Cattle and Holstein Cattle--Take Heqing County of Yunnan Province as an example

Abstract: [Objective] To compare the incidence of Jersey cattle and Holstein cattle in the breeding process.[Method] The monthly report data of eight diseases with high incidence rate of adult cattles and three diseases with high incidence rate of calves in Eurasian dairy farm of Heqing County in 2021 were collected and sorted out,and the test data were statistically analyzed with SPSS software.[Result] There was no significant difference in the annual average incidence rate of ketosis,postpartum paralysis and atony of forestomach between Jersey cattle and Holstein cattle (P>0.05),but the annual average incidence rate of gastric displacement,metritis,retained placenta,mastitis and hoof disease was significantly lower than that of Holstein cattle (P<0.01).There was no significant difference in the annual average incidence rate of calf pneumonia and calf cold between Jersey and Holstein (P>0.05),while the annual average incidence rate of calf pneumonia was significantly lower than that of Holstein (P<0.05).[Conclusion]The disease resistance of Jersey cattle was stronger than that of Holstein cattle under the same feeding and management conditions.
