Monitoring and Analysis of FMD Antibodies in Large-scale Cattle Farms

Abstract: [Objective] The harm of FMD disease cannot be ignored. Monitoring the immune antibody titer is the most effective way to understand the epidemic dynamics, which can help the pastures to evaluate the immune effect, and provide authoritative and scientific basis for the prevention and control of FMD disease. [Method] Five large-scale dairy farms were randomly selected in Hefei and 40 serum samples were collected each. FMD antibody levels in serum of cattle(calves, bred cattle, young cattle, and adult cattle)were monitored and analyzed by blocking ELISA test. [Result] Most of the sites reached the 70% qualification standard of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs. [Conclusion] FMD disease OA bivalent vaccine is widely used in large-scale dairy farms in Hefei, which has good immune effect and can produce effective antibodies in time. Regular monitoring of the antibody level of FMD disease in dairy cows is an effective method to evaluate the effect of immunization, and provides data reference for formulating a perfect immunization plan, strengthening prevention and control measures, implementing scientific early warning and forecast mechanism, and minimizing the occurrence of FMD disease.
