Grass and animal husbandry is a dynamic and promising industry. This paper combed the origin and connotation of the concept of grass and animal husbandry,explained the necessity of developing grass and animal husbandry from the aspects of agricultural structure adjustment, rural supply-sind reform, animal husbandry efficiency enhancement and ecological civilization constrction. Based on the analysis of the current situation and problems in the development of grass and animal husbandry, this paper put forward some countermeasures, such as fully understanding the importance of developing grass and animal husbandry, speeding up the selection and breeding of fine grass and livestock breeds, deepening the industrialization of grass and animal husbandry and increasing the policy support, in order to promote innovation and development of grass and animal husbandry.
