Effect of Different Feeding Methods on Feed Intake of Dairy Cows under Heat Stress Conditions

Abstract: Heat stress has always been the main factor affecting the benefits of modern pasture, especially in the hottest time in summer. Heat stress not only affects the dry material intake of cows,but also affects the subsequent production of cows. Improving the dry matter intake of dairy cows during heat stress has been one of the main problems puzzling modern dairy farms This paper studied the effect of adjusting dairy cow feeding mode on dry material feed intake during heat stress. The experiment showed that during the summer heat stress period,by adjusting the feeding time and increasing the feeding times,the dry matter intake of dairy cows was increased by 0.52 kg and 0.80 kg,and the yield of dairy cows was increased by 1.00 kg and 1.31 kg respectively.
