Effect of Chinese Herbal Extracts on Immunological Efficacy of Foot-and-Mouth Disease Vaccine in Dairy Cows

Abstract: Foot-and-mouth disease of dairy cows was one of the common infectious diseases with acute,thermal and contact characteristics that harm the economic benefits of farming. Vaccination is one of the most direct and effective methods to prevent the disease. However,the effect of antibodies produced after vaccination is affected by many factors,and there may be insufficient immune protection caused by insufficient antigen dosage. The extracts of Chinese herbal medicine could improve the immunity and resistance of the body. Therefore, this paper reviewed the effect of Chinese herbal extracts on the immune effect of cows vaccinated against foot-and-mouth disease. Rational use of Chinese herbal extracts could promote the effect of foot-and-mouth disease vaccine and ensure the effect of immunization.
