Establishment of a Rapid Detection Method for Moisture Content in Milk Powder

Abstract: [Objective] To establish a method for rapid detection of moisture content in milk powder by moisture meter.[Method]The moisture content of 6 batches of New Zealand milk powder was determined by oven method and moisture meter method,and the influence of different conditions on the measurement results of moisture meter method,as well as the precision and accuracy of the method were analyzed with the test results of oven method as the standard value.[Result]Within the experimental setting range,the drying temperature had a significant effect on the detection results of the moisture meter method,but the sampling amount had no significant effect.[Conclusion]The moisture meter method with drying temperature of 110 ℃ and sampling amount of 5 g has good precision and accuracy in determining the moisture content of milk powder,and can be used as the primary screening method for the acceptance of milk powder moisture into storage.
