Epidemiological Investigation and Analysis of Bovine Viral Diarrhea Virus and Bovine Enterovirus—Take Tieling of Liaoning as an example

Abstract: [Objective] To understand the epidemiology of bovine viral diarrhea virus (BVDV) and bovine enterovirus (BEV) in Tieling of Liaoning. [Method] From June 2021 to June 2022, the incidence of BVDV and BEV in different dairy farms in Tieling of Liaoning was investigated, and 648 samples were collected for antigen detection. [Results] The single infection rate of BVDV was 19.14%,the single infection rate of BEV was 14.97%,and the mixed infection rate of BVDV/BEV was 8.64% in different dairy farms in Tieling of Liaoning. Among them,there were mixed infections of BVDV and BEV in different ages,and the mixed infection rate of calves was the lowest,which was 4.49% (4/89). The mixed infection rate of breeding cows was 6.35%(12/189). The mixed infection rate of young cows was the highest,accounting for 13.01%(19/146). The mixed infection rate of adult cows was 9.38%(21/224). [Conclusion] This study revealed the epidemiological background of cattle infected with BVDV and BEV in Tieling of Liaoning,and provided a reliable epidemiological theoretical basis for further prevention and control of BVDV and BEV infection. It is suggested that dairy farms with high feeding density and large scale should conduct comprehensive epidemiological investigation regularly to master the epidemic law of BVDV and BEV.
