Abstract: [Objective] To investigate the application effects of dual-active coated oregano essential oil in large-scale dairy farming. [Method] Holstein cows from two large-scale dairy farms in Ningxia and Xinjiang were selected as research subjects, and a dosage of 50 g/head/day was administered. The effects of this additive on dairy cow production performance, feed utilization efficiency, farming costs, and economic benefits were analyzed through comparative trials. [Result] On the Ningxia dairy farm,a self-controlled before-after trial was conducted, and the results of t-test analysis showed that the addition of dual-active coated oregano essential oil significantly improved the late-stage milk yield of dairy cows. During days 15-21 of the trial, the daily milk yield per cow increased extremely significantly by 0.93 kg,and the full-cycle milk yield increased by 0.53 kg;feed conversion rate significantly increased by 0.09,while the cost per kilogram of milk significantly decreased by 0.02 CNY. On the Xinjiang dairy farm, due to the unbalanced baseline data of the initial experimental herds, the indicator change value (Δ) was used for correction analysis. The results showed that the additive effectively improved the feed intake performance of dairy cows and increased the full-cycle dry matter intake, with the milk production gains becoming progressively evident in the late stage of the trial. In terms of economic benefits, the addition of this essential oil achieved an average daily income increase of 1.19 CNY per cow,and milk quality indicators such as milk fat percentage and milk protein percentage showed a slight upward trend. [Conclusion] Dual-active coated oregano essential oil can optimize digestive function in dairy cows, improve feed utilization efficiency and lactation performance, effectively reduce unit production costs, and enhance farming economic benefits. It is both safe and practical, making it suitable for promotion and application in large-scale dairy farms, and can provide a technical reference for green,high-quality,and efficient dairy farming.
