Study on Lutein Content in Infant Milk Powder Under Different Treatment Conditions

Abstract: By comparing the lutein content in infant formula milk powder under different treatment conditions,the effect of three pretreatment conditions on the extraction of Lutein was studied. The change of xanthophyll content was compared by changing saponification time,saponification environment and centrifugal speed. The results showed that the saponification time and environmental change had the greatest influence on the xanthophyll content,the short and long saponification time affected the xanthophyll content,and the low temperature 4 °C and high temperature 40 °C were unfavorable to the xanthophyll extraction,the centrifugal speed had little effect on the content of Lutein. The limit of detection was 1.08 μg/100 g and the limit of detection was 3.24 μg/100 g when the sample weight was 2.0 g and the volume was 5 mL. Within this range,the linear regression equation Y=0.7108X+0.018,R2 = 0.9990.
