Application of Flow Cytometry in the Detection of Commercial Sterility of Dairy Products

Abstract: [Objective] To clarify the efficiency and accuracy of flow cytometry technology in commercial aseptic testing of dairy products, and to understand the necessity and value of rapid microbial detection technology. [Method] Introduce the definition, principles, and methods of flow cytometry technology, and compare it with the commercial sterility testing methods in the national standard. [Result] Flow cytometry technology and the commercial sterility testing method in the national standard showed commercial sterility for samples without added microorganisms, and non-commercial sterility for samples with added target microorganisms. The test results were consistent. [Conclusion] Flow cytometry technology for detecting commercial sterility and the commercial sterility testing methods in national standards can achieve the same screening purpose in testing, and have advantages in convenience, accuracy, stability, operability, timeliness, etc. It can quickly release products and is of great significance for quality judgment.
