Epidemiological Status of Common Digestive Tract Parasitic Diseases in Dairy Cows in Yishui County and Evaluation of the Efficacy of Common Anthelmintic Drugs

Abstract: [Objective] To screen the best anthelmintic drugs for digestive tract parasites in dairy cows. [Method] Three dairy farms and six dairy farming cooperatives were selected as pilot sites.A comparative trial was conducted on the epidemiological status of digestive tract parasitic diseases and the efficacy of common anthelmintic drugs in 706 dairy cows. [Result] Various degrees of infection were observed with parasites such as Toxocara vitulorum,Moniezia tapeworms,Fasciola hepatica,Paramphistomum,and coccidia. [Conclusion] Among the commonly used anthelmintic drugs in the region,the combination of Ivermectin injection and Toltrazuril suspension showed higher egg reduction rates and negative conversion rates in fecal examinations compared to Albendazole tablets,Levamisole Hydrochloride tablets,and Sulfadimidine tablets.The combination of Ivermectin and Toltrazuril is the optimal choice for eliminating nematodes,trematodes,cestodes,and coccidia in the digestive tract of dairy cows.
