Abstract: [Objective] To understand the prevalence and incidence of cow hoof disease in Linyi City, and provide theoretical and practical basis for improving the prevention and control effects. [Method] Conduct a survey and statistics on the incidence of cow hoof disease in 22 large-scale pastures in Linyi City from January to December 2023,analyze the causes of the disease, investigate the treatment process, and propose prevention and control suggestions. [Result] In 2023,the incidence rate of cow hoof disease in large-scale pastures in Linyi City was 7.8%.There were 8 kinds of common hoof diseases. The highest rate of deformed hoof was 2.3%,accounting for 29.8% of all hoof diseases, followed by hoof leaf inflammation. From the perspective of the onset age and gestational age,the incidence rate of adult cows was higher than that of young cows, and with the increase of parity, the incidence rate of hoof disease increases significantly, and the symptoms become worse. From the perspective of the onset season, the highest rate of cow hoof disease was in March,June to September. When cows are eliminated due to illness, hoof disease accounts for the highest proportion, and irregular hoof baths and repairs are important causes of hoof disease in large-scale dairy pastures. From the perspective of treatment effects, the cure rates for deformed hooves, interdactyly, hoof base injuries, and hoof erosion were relatively high, but the cure rates for purulent arthritis, osteomalacia, and hoof leaf inflammation were relatively low. However, the clinical treatment effect of hoof rot disease was relatively poor. [Conclusion] The incidence rate of hoof disease in dairy cows in large-scale pastures in Linyi City is relatively high due to the influence of living environment, veterinary health status and other feeding management conditions,as well as the nutritional status of TMR diet. It is necessary to strengthen feeding management, gradually improve the breeding environment and health status, constantly improve the quality of TMR diet, and reduce the incidence rate of hoof disease.
