Analysis of Yield and Nutrient Composition of Donkey Milk from Different Rearing Patterns

Abstract: To explore the effects of different rearing patterns on milk yield and nutrient composition of lactating donkeys. Fourteen female donkeys with foals with similar milk production were randomly divided into two groups:the whole house feeding group and the grazing + Supplement feeding group. Compared with whole house feeding,the contents of solid,protein,ash,linoleic acid C 18∶2,linoleic acid c 18∶3,palmitic acid c 16∶0,alanine,glycine,leucine,tyrosine in donkey milk increased significantly by 9.64%,55.15%,22.86%,9.7%,4.58%,6.06%,5.56%,13.64%,8.62% and 9.43%,respectively(P<0.05),the contents of fat,lactose and stearic acid c 18∶0 decreased by 37.10%,6.00% and 12.26%,respectively(P<0.05),the average daily milk yield of lactating donkeys increased by 12.06%(P<0.05),but the moisture content of donkey milk was not significantly different from that of whole milk(P>0.05),the daily breeding cost of female donkey can be reduced by 3 ~ 4 yuan / head.Conclusion:the method of grazing and supplementary feeding can not only improve the quality of milk,but also save the cost of breeding.
