Abstract: The aim of the experiment is to investigate the effects of compound plant extracts on milk production and milk physicochemical indicators in cows with mastitis. 24 cows with mastitis were selected, with 12 cows in each group. They were divided into Experiment Group I and Experiment Group II. Experiment Group I was treated with 5-fold diluted compound plant extracts for mastitis, while Experiment Group II was used as a positive control and treated with conventional antibiotics. Another 12 healthy cows were selected as the experimental group III, as a negative control, using compound plant extracts diluted 10 times. On the 1st day before medication and the 7th day of treatment, milk production, pH value, electrical conductivity, somatic cell count, alanine aminotransferase (ALT), lactate dehydrogenase (LDH), and albumin (ALB) indicators were measured in each group of cows. The results showed that one day before medication, the electrical conductivity and somatic cell count of Group I and Group II were significantly higher than those of Group III, the milk production was significantly lower than that of Group III, and the pH was significantly higher than that of Group III. After 7 days of treatment, the electrical conductivity, somatic cell count, LDH, ALB, and ALT of Experiment Group I and Experiment Group II were significantly higher than those of Experiment Group III, and the milk production was significantly lower than that of Experiment Group III. The pH was significantly higher than that of Experiment Group III. However, compared with Experiment Group III, there was no significant difference in all indicators. This indicates that compound plant extracts can reduce breast inflammation, promote the consistency of milk related indicators with healthy cows, and have significant effects on preventing and treating mastitis.
