Abstract: Neospora caninum is one of the important parasites that cause reproductive disorders such as miscarriage in pregnant cows and movement disorders in newborn calves. Currently, there are no effective drugs or vaccines to treat and prevent bovine neosporidiosis. This study used a commercialized ELISA kit to detect Neospora caninum antibodies in 1472 serum samples from large-scale dairy farms in Zhangzhou, Nanping, Sanming, and Longyan areas of Fujian Province. The results were analyzed using SPSS 22.0 software for biostatistics. The research results showed that the total antibodies positive rate of dairy cattle Neospora caninum was 7.47%. The Neospora caninum antibodies positive rates of samples from four regions were 5.57%, 5.12%, 7.41%, and 12.97%, respectively; The positive rates of dairy cattle Neospora caninum antibody in cows of different age groups range from 2.93% to 9.56%, and the positive rates of dairy cattle Neospora caninum antibody in cows of different parity ranges from 4.83% to 9.50%. By statistical analysis, there was a significant difference in the positivity rate of Neospora caninum antibody in cows at different age stages (P<0.05). The results of the present study showed that there is a widespread infection of Neospora caninum in dairy cattle in Fujian Province. Cattle farms should adopt comprehensive prevention and control strategies and develop effective management measures to control Neosporosis in cattle.
