Serological Investigation of Bovine Paratuberculosis in Large-scale Cattle Farms in Shandong Province

Abstract: [Objective] To investigate the incidence and prevalence of Bovine Paratuberculosis in large-scale cattle farms in Shandong Province. [Method] In this study, 738 serum samples (383 cow serum, 355 beef serum) were collected from 25 cattle farms (13 dairy farms, 12 beef cattle farms) in Shandong Province by serological detection method to detect Bovine Paratuberculosis antibody. [Result] Bovine Paratuberculosis antibody was positive in 12 of the 25 cattle farms, and the population positive rate was 48.00%. 35 of the 738 samples were positive, and the individual positive rate was 4.74%. The results indicated that Bovine Paratuberculosis was widespread in some large-scale cattle farms in Shandong province. [Conclusion] This epidemiological survey basically found out the infection situation of cattle Paratuberculosis in some large-scale cattle farms in Shandong province, and provided reference for the prevention and control of the disease in the future.
