Analyses and Countermeasures of Anestrus and Low Conception Rate of Cows in a Large-Scale Farm in Tai’an City of Shandong Province

Abstract: The pregnant cows in a farm in Tai’an city of Shandong province were imported from abroad on a large scale. After parturition,occurrence of low conception directly affects the production performance and economic benefits of the farm.The results of the on-site panel discussion,investigation and rectal examination showed the low rate of conception is mainly due to the long-time lack of nutrition,long-term postpartum anestrus and uterine diseases. Based on the real conditions of the farm,this paper aims to provide countermeasures to enhance postpartum recovery ability from different perspectives,including nutrition and disease treatment,external climate(season)impacts,environment disinfection and artificial insemination.This research would provide cow practitioners with practical experience for daily management.
