Effects of Different Silage Methods on Production Performance and Economic Benefits of Dairy Cows

Abstract: [Objective]Shiyu 13 was used as material to compare the effects of whole corn silage and silage on performance and economic benefit of dairy cows. [Method]The dry matter nutrient composition,dry matter intake,milk yield and milk quality of the two groups were compared and analyzed. [Result]Dry matter content of wrapped silage was higher than that of cellar silage,and dry matter intake of wrapped silage group was significantly higher than that of cellar silage group at 14 and 28 days(P<0.05). There was no significant difference in milk yield between wrapped silage and cellar silage(P>0.05). The milk fat percentage of dairy cows in cellar silage group was significantly lower than that in wrapped silage group(P<0.01),and the milk protein percentage was significantly lower than that of wrapped silage group(P<0.05). Compared with cellar silage,milk yield increased by 0.06 kg and milk benefit increased by 0.23 yuan per cow per day in cellar silage group.
