[Objective] This study was to investigate the effect of supplemental intestinal modulator containing organic acids on milk yield, dry matter intake and main DHI parameters of dairy cows.[Method] Three hundred eighty-eight Chinese Holstein cows were divided into two groups according to random block design with milk yield, day in milking and parity. The animals were fed basic diets without intestinal modulator(control)or with 48 gram per cow per day intestinal modulator(treatment).[Result] The milk yield, dry matter intake and milk fat content was improved 1.1 kg/d·h(P<0.05),0.84 kg/d·h(P<0.05)and 0.2 percentage point(P<0.05)by treatment, respectively. Cows fed with intestinal modulator had greater ratio of milk fat to protein(P<0.05). There was no effect of intestinal modulator on milk protein content, somatic cell count, somatic cell score, milk urea nitrogen.[Conclusion] Supplemental intestinal modulator containing organic acids was improved milk yield, dry matter intake and milk fat content of dairy cows.
