Abstract: In order to improve the feeding and management level of calves in dairy farms in winter, reduce the incidence rate in calves and medicine costs, Miyun Comprehensive Experimental Station of Beijing Dairy Industry Innovation Team has carried out a demonstration and application of winter calf jackets technology in dairy farms. Over the past four months,it has been confirmed that calves wearing a jacket have a combined decrease of 17.52% in the incidence of rumen bloating,diarrhea and respiratory diseases and of 77.30% in treatment costs compared with calves not wearing a jacket in the same period under the same feeding and management conditions. Each calf jacket costs 43 yuan which can be reused, with low investment and quick profits.
