Effect of Compound Chinese Herbal Medicine Infusion on Endometritis in Dairy Cows

Abstract: [Objective] The aim of this study was to observe the therapeutic effect of Chinese herbal medicine on cow endometritis,and to provide reference for clinical application of Chinese herbal medicine on cow endometritis.[Method] Sixty cows with endometritis were randomly divided into 5 groups with 12 cows in each group,including high,medium and low dose compound Chinese herbal medicine groups (uterus perfusion 150 mL per head,100 mL per head and 50 mL per head,respectively),oxytetracycline group (uterus perfusion 50 mL per head) and control group. [Result] The total effective rate of medium dose group and high dose group was 75.00% and 83.33%,which were higher than that of oxytetracycline group (66.67%). The average estrus days of oxytetracycline group after treatment were shortened by 14 d,and the average estrus days of all compound Chinese herbal medicine groups were shortened by 11~19 d. The conception rate of oxytetracycline group was 50.00%,and that of compound Chinese herbal medicine group ranged from 41.67% to 66.67%.[Conclusion] Compound Chinese herbal medicine was better than oxytetracycline in the treatment of cow endometritis,and the high dose group had the best effect.
