Study on in Vitro Antibacterial Effect of 7 Chinese Herbs on Pathogenic Bacteria of Dairy Cow Nastitis

Abstract: Choose Echinacea,Honeysuckle,Forsythia,Perilla,Eucommia Ulmoides leaves,Astragalus and Licorice,Seven Chinese herbs,were extracted twice by 75% ethanol reflux method,and concentrated to 1 g raw drug per milliliter. tube double dilution method is used to determine the three main pathogenic bacteria of dairy cow mastitis of minimum bacteriostatic concentration (MIC) and minimum bactericidal concentration (MBC).In vitro antibacterial results showed that Honeysuckle and Licorice had the strongest antibacterial effect against Staphylococcus aureus,with MIC values of 15.63 mg/mL and MBC values of 31.25 mg/mL. Echinacea had the strongest effect on Escherichia coli,with MIC value of 15.63 mg/mL and MBC value of 31.25 mg/mL. Honeysuckle and Forsythia had the strongest inhibitory effects on Streptococcus agalactiae,with MIC values of 31.25 mg/mL and MBC values of 62.50 mg/mL.The results showed that Honeysuckle and Licorice had the inhibitory effect on Staphylococcus aureus,Echinacea had the inhibitory effect on Escherichia coli,Honeysuckle and Forsythia had the inhibitory effect on Streptococcus agalactiae.
