Diagnosis and Treatment of Common Energy Metabolism Diseases in Dairy cows

Abstract: In order to reduce the occurrence of cows’energy metabolism diseases and the loss to the farms(households),this paper analyzed the causes,clinical symptoms and laboratory examination methods of common energy metabolism diseases in dairy cows,such as ketosis, obesity syndrome,and retained placenta,and on this basis,summarized the experience in clinical treatment over the years,and treatment schemes. Ketosis in dairy cows can be treated by improving blood glucose level,relieving autoacidosis,adjusting rumen function,potassium chlorate anti-ketosis therapy,etc.. Cow obesity syndrome can be treated by Chinese and western medicine such as supplementing sugar,protecting liver,relieving acidosis,promoting production and absorption of sugar. Retained placenta can be treated by surgery,systemic and local medication.
